From the breed's first litter produced by mating two best-in-show winners, Guy began his show career at 9 months of age with a 5-point major win at the Pittsburgh Specialty, and finished with two more 5-point wins.   A talented field dog as well, Guy was ready to compete in broke gun dog stakes when   an injury left permanent muscle damage.

Guy sired 1 futurity winner and 1 maturity winner, as well as 2 BROM producers.  Sound, stylish and intensely birdy, Guy consistently passed these qualities to his progeny.  His special contribution, however, comes from the highly complimentary nick when his progeny are crossed with those from his litter brother, CH Reiteralm's Rio Fonte Saudade, NRD, BROM.  The linebred descendants of Guy and Rio appear in the pedigrees of many of today's top winners and producers.  Together, Guy and Rio appear in the pedigrees of 38.9 percent of the futurity and 54.2 percent of the maturity winners from 1982 to 1990.
